        <h2>The Heart of Three Springs</h2>

<p><span class="question">Q. How many people will live in Three Springs? </span><br /> <strong>A.</strong> It is estimated that the Three Springs development will add 1/4 of the current population (15,501, 2005 census reports) of Durango to the community, approximately 3,000-5,000 people.</p>

<p>I am proud to be the first settler in Three Springs.&nbsp; I moved to Three Springs from my in-town Durango home because I liked the &ldquo;built green&rdquo; concept (my heating bills have been reduced by almost half), as well as the closeness to walking and hiking paths, offices, shops and a soon-to-open restaurant.&nbsp; I&rsquo;ve met all the other residents here and already feel a strong sense of community.&nbsp; As for the Tierra staff members &ndash; they have been wonderful to work with, responding to and anticipating my needs every step of the way, from purchase to move-in and beyond.&nbsp; It&rsquo;s great to be a &ldquo;pioneer&rdquo; in one of Durango&rsquo;s newest, most beautiful neighborhoods, and I am so looking forward to the new friends and lasting memories I will make here.&nbsp; Come see for yourself if a Three Springs address is where you&rsquo;ll call home.&nbsp; I&rsquo;d love to have you as a new neighbor!&nbsp; <em><strong>Barbara Martin</strong></em> Three Springs Neighbor</p>

<p><strong>Linda Lives, Works, Plays the&nbsp;Three Springs Life </strong><br /><br />Linda Kaboth is the poster child for the slogan: Live, Work, Shop, Play. A Tierra Verde Row Home owner and employee at GF Properties Group, LLC which is located at 175 Mercado Street, Linda enjoys her Three Springs home, her Three Springs job, her Three Springs trails and fitness center, and being a regular at the new Three Springs Digs Market Cafe. <br /><br />According to Linda&#8217;s research, it is literally 110 steps from her front stoop to her office door. She&#8217;s quick to point out that it&#8217;s 110 of her own feet; perhaps her husband&#8217;s feet might make the trip even shorter - maybe down to 90! <br /><br />In short it&#8217;s not much of a commute, said Linda. I can&#8217;t tell you how many of my co-workers ask me how was your commute? Each one of them thinks they were the originator of that funny line! <br /><br />Linda is a member of Anytime Fitness, which celebrates its first anniversary this June, she visits the doctors at Mercy Regional Medical Center and Medical Office Buildings (but only when she has to), and walks with Mary Gwinn, Neighborhood Services Coordinator, at lunch.<br /><br />Mary&#8217;s legs are so long and strong that our walks are nearly runs, said Linda. But it&#8217;s all good. I like walking my dog in the plentiful Open Space, and certainly enjoy having wine and cheese on the deck of my new townhome.<br /><br />Life is good for Linda here at Three Springs, and we&#8217;re sure glad she&#8217;s chosen to live the Three Springs life to the fullest!</p>

<p><strong>Helping Make a Vision Real: Mercy Regional Medical Center&#8217;s CEO Moves to Three Springs</strong></p>

<p>Immediately after the groundbreaking ceremony for Mercy Regional Medical Center&rsquo;s new facility in Grandview back in 2004, the hospital&rsquo;s Chief Executive Officer, Kirk Dignum, stated that the entire project would not have been possible without the generosity and vision of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. The Tribe donated some land and sold additional land for what has become southwest Colorado&rsquo;s and, for that matter, the Four Corner&rsquo;s, most capable medical center. <br /><br />Little did Mr. Dignum know, at the time, how much his family would become an element of the vision Tribal leaders and the Tribe&rsquo;s Growth Fund businesses had for what would become Three Springs. <br /><br />Mr. Dignum and his wife, Ginny, recently purchased a new Tierra Group-built home in Three Springs, moved there, and now enjoy the amenities of living and working in one location. <br /><br />&ldquo;After 24 years of wonderful country living on 20 acres, we decided it was time to try &lsquo;city&rsquo; life,&rdquo; says Kirk. &ldquo;Our daughters went away to college and Ginny and I decided we wanted to &lsquo;simplify&rsquo; our lives - less driving, less upkeep&#8230;more time for riding our bikes and hiking. Three Springs, with its walking trails, wetlands and close access to some of our favorite biking trails, was a wonderful way to live in the city and still be surrounded by nature. I can walk to work each day. Ginny loves walking our dog, Chaco-Bob, around the Three Springs&rsquo; trail system. The wetlands are beautiful with all the wildlife.&rdquo;<br /><br />As the Growth Fund&rsquo;s Three Springs residential/business development project took shape, it became more alluring for the Dignums. &ldquo;Tierra Group building &lsquo;green&rsquo; was a real attraction,&rdquo; Kirk states. &ldquo;The businesses locating here, especially Digs Market Caf&eacute; and Anytime Fitness, are nice neighborhood features. Most of all, we found the employees of Three Springs and Tierra Group to be accessible, professional and extremely helpful in relocating to Three Springs.&rdquo;<br /><br />The Dignums are now participants in the first-level of what the Tribe&rsquo;s development will become over the next several years. In Kirk&rsquo;s words, &ldquo;It has been fun to watch the Three Springs&rsquo; dream of a walkable neighborhood come to life, and to finally be a part of it.&rdquo;</p>

<p>My husband and I met while we were students here at Fort lewis College.  After graduation, we moved to San Diego and after living there for 13 years, we thought we'd never leave Southern California. While visiting Durango, Co over the 4th of July in 2003- we realized THIS is where we wanted to raise our kids.  Six months later, we moved back to Durango and couldn't be happier about our decision.   </p>

<p>I have worked as the Three Springs Coordinator since March 2008 and I am very excited to be part of a wonderful neighborhood development.  Three Springs, the only traditional neighborhood development in Southwest Colorado, has exactly what a lot of us are looking for- walking tails, playgrounds, and better yet- a sense of community and a connection with our next door neighbors.
